Access will update its embedded browser SDK in January, adding a popup blocker, search/translation bar, Web data manager, and predictive software keyboard. NetFront SDK 3.3 can be used to create customized browsers or browser-based interfaces for Linux-based set-top boxes, digital televisions, IP phones, and game consoles, Access says.

Most users do not need a full-blown programming platform to develop small hacks for their phone. A scripting language is the perfect tool to automate simple tasks and perform simple logical processing. Python is a widely used scripting language in the computer world. It is easy to learn and supports object-oriented program construction. Nokia provides support for Python on most of its Series 60 devices.

LinuxDevices has once again published the proceedings of the annual Real-Time Linux Workshop. This one, the seventh, was held in France earlier this month, at the University for Science and Technology of Lille (USTL).
