iPod Nano Accessories
Here is a quick rundown of some very nice accessories for the iPod Nano 1st Generation. Geeks.com were very generous to send us some items for a review.
This adjustable elastic armband features a lightweight design and provides easy access to your iPod controls. With its striking pink rose color, this armband is the perfect workout companion for your iPod Nano! It is lightweight and durable and it uses velcro to seal. All is good, but the color, pink, probably won't be a big hit with the guys. Rating: 8/10.
5-in-1 Super Travel Kit for iPod Nano
This travel kit for the iPod nano includes a clear screen protector, a green silicone case, a USB retractable data/charging cable, an AC wall adapter to USB charger (110-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz) and ear bud style headphones. For the price, at $10, the AC adapter alone worth the price. We found all the items to be top notch quality, except the screen protector, which it was less than smooth when applied. Rating: 8/10.
USB Cradle For iPod Nano (Black)
This convenient multi-function desktop docking cradle for your iPod Nano allows you to charge and synchronize your iPod Nano via USB cable. This dock also has audio output jack for connection to headphones, earphones, speakers or audio system. This is an amazing piece, well worth the $13 it costs. It is slick and build with good quality materials. The only problem we found is that if you use a case for your Nano, it won't fit in the cradle. Rating: 9/10.
Silicone Nano Case w/Headphone Holder For iPod (Black)
I love this case, although it's not for everyone. Basically, this slick, non-slipping case protects your iPod Nano very well, with the additional feature of having a grip on its back that you can tangle around your earbuds! This means that you don't need an extra case for your earbuds, neither you have to just put them in your pocket and let them mangle! It is a 2-in-1 case for both the iPod and your headphones. Priceless at just $3.50. Rating: 9/10.
FM Transmitter w/LCD Display (Car Cigarette Adapter Powered)
If your car stereo has no line-in, then the FM transmitter trick is your only chance of getting your mp3 players' music to playback on your car stereo. This particular model features:
14 channels for selection
FM Band Full Channels (87.7 - 107.9 MHz)
Channel Selection up (0.2 MHz)
Excellent sound quality
LCD display
Cigarette lighter adapter end
Tilting head
0.15 A dissipation current
3.5 mm earphone plug
It worked without flaws or bugs, but audio quality and reception was very disappointing. Our car would not cleanly pick the FM signal, not even if the antenna was just 1 meter away. Rating: 6/10.
Crystal Clear Protective Case for iPod Nano (Green)
This is a beautiful case for the iPod Mini. It is green transparent, and protects the screen along with the rest of the Nano body from scratches and drops. I particularly love its very long neck strap that allows you to hang your iPod Mini from your neck. For those of us who are lazy to take the ipod off our pockets all the time, or for those of us who do like to show off a bit about our new iPod. Overall, this is a nice product at a very logical price. Rating: 9/10.
3-in-1 Charger Kit for iPod Nano (White)
This kit gives you the freedom to charge your iPod Nano at home, the office or in your vehicle via AC wall outlet, USB or cigarette lighter socket. The package includes a charger USB cable for iPod Nano, a 12V cigarette lighter socket adapter and an AC wall adapter (100-240V 50/60 Hz). For just $8, this is an amazing deal, plain and simple. And it should work with all iPods too. Don't pass on this one! Rating: 10/10.
Benwin iChoice Dock and Speakers w/Remote for iPod (White)
At 2lbs, this looks like a great speaker and dock for any iPod. It comes with a wireless remote, stereo cables, four (4) iPod adapters, a power adapter (100-240V ~ 50/60 Hz) and a users manual. The total output of the system is 80W and its frequency response is at 60 Hz 'â 20 kHz. And it looks good. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well. The sound quality is ATROCIOUS. You will get better sound quality from an FM Radio that was built in 1960 that your grand mother still uses. It is such a big shame, because this would have been an amazing deal, considering the remote control and the good looks of the unit. But where it counts, the sound quality, it just makes me sad. It's like a good idea going horribly bad. Rating: 3/10.
