The Nokia 6680 is the latest 3G effort by Nokia. The 6680 is armed with dual cameras: a 1.3 megapixel camera on the back, and a VGA camera up front. It is a Dual Mode phone, featuring UMTS and tri-band GSM operation (900/1800/1900MHz). The 6680 is capable of switching automatically between bands and modes. More here. The first company ever to market a Linux-based mobile phone in the US has been acquired by America Online. Wildseed (formerly GitWit) targets the teen market with dual-band GSM/GPRS Linux fashion phones (shown at left) with snap-on plastic skins themed around popular entertainers. AOL is a division of entertainment powerhouse Time Warner.

Lately, rumours had been popping up that Palm's new Treo 670 would be running Windows Mobile-- however, no hard evidence confirming these rumours ever appeared. Untill now.
